Our club is a strong fit for families seeking a competitive, community-based soccer environment with a focus on player development, team culture, and long-term growth.

Families join WGSC from Webster Groves, Shrewsbury, South St. Louis City, Maplewood, Richmond Heights, Warson Woods, Rock Hill, Glendale, Oakland, Crestwood, Affton, Ladue, Clayton, and beyond.

WGSC is proud to provide a welcoming club environment for players who are ready to train, compete, grow, and enjoy the game.

Season Timeline

WGSC Select teams generally follow a fall-to-spring soccer year, with team activity varying by age group, league placement, roster makeup, and team goals.

Player Identification and Team Placement

Player ID sessions and team placement opportunities typically take place in the spring, early summer, and fall.

Additional roster opportunities may be available throughout the year when teams have open roster spots or when a player is a good fit for a team’s needs.

Team placement is based on player development, roster fit, team level, and the best available environment for each player.

Fall Season

WGSC’s fall programming is designed to support player development while being mindful of each player’s overall soccer commitments.

For U11 and younger teams, WGSC generally does not participate in select/competitive fall league formats. This allows players to fully support their CYC, school league, and other fall soccer commitments without overcommitting players or families.

For teams participating in fall select activity, the fall season may include:

  • Outdoor training

  • Friendlies

  • Tournaments

  • Fall SLYSA league play, when appropriate for the age group and team

In the later part of the fall, typically around November, fall teams may begin winding down their outdoor SLYSA season while adding indoor training, futsal, or indoor league opportunities.

Team schedules are determined by the club and coaching staff based on what is appropriate for each age group, roster, and development plan.

Winter Season

Younger WGSC Select teams, typically U9–U11, that do not train or play during the fall season generally join the club around “Turkey Tuesday” — a club-wide night where we celebrate teams coming together before the holiday season begins.

During the winter months, WGSC teams may participate in a mix of:

  • Outdoor training

  • Indoor technical training

  • Team development sessions

  • Futsal opportunities

  • Indoor league play, when appropriate

For teams that participated in the fall season, December may include a reduced activity schedule. Teams typically return to a fuller training rhythm in January as spring season preparation begins.

Spring Season

WGSC Select teams typically participate in the Spring SLYSA season, which runs approximately from mid-February through the first Sunday in June.

Teams generally train twice per week during the pre-season and active spring season. Teams may also participate in tournaments, friendlies, or other development opportunities as part of their overall season plan.

Most Winter-Spring teams participate in approximately two tournaments during their soccer year, typically during the spring season. Tournament participation may vary based on age group, team level, roster needs, and coaching plan.

Training Expectations

During the primary season, WGSC Select teams generally train two times per week.

Training may include team sessions, club-wide training, technical development, tactical preparation, and goalkeeper-specific opportunities when available.

WGSC’s goal is to provide players with a consistent training environment that supports individual growth, team development, and a positive competitive experience.

Training Sessions

WGSC Select teams train consistently throughout the soccer year, with training locations determined by season, field availability, team age group, and club programming needs.

Teams may train at facilities such as SLUH, Lutheran South High School, gym space near the Webster Groves area, or other approved training locations as the club continues to grow.

WGSC’s goal is to provide players with a consistent, development-focused training environment that supports both individual improvement and team growth.

Club Training Partnership

WGSC partners with Elite FT to provide professional supplemental training for our players. Elite FT sessions focus on technical development, including:

  • Ball control

  • Passing and receiving

  • Foot skills

  • Movement off the ball

  • Speed of play

  • Confidence under pressure

For players with an appetite for additional soccer, these training opportunities provide a way to continue developing beyond regular team training.

Some primary roster players may also participate in Academy-style training during the CYC or school league season to supplement their development before returning to their WGSC Select team schedule.

WGSC players consistently train during the winter months, providing continuity at a time when many teams reduce or pause activity.

Uniforms

WGSC uses the Soccer.com ordering system for team uniform and equipment purchases.

Families will be able to order the required customized uniform pieces for each season, which may include:

  • Blue short-sleeve Training uniform (tee)

  • Orange short-sleeve uniform

  • White short-sleeve uniform

  • Black shorts

  • Black socks

  • White socks

Families may also order replacement pieces and optional items, including balls, bags, warm-up pants, warm-up jackets, extra shorts, and extra socks.

Parents are responsible for applicable shipping and taxes in exchange for direct delivery of customized orders. Customer service and team sales support are provided through the uniform ordering platform.

The projected all-in cost for the required customized uniform kit, including taxes and delivery, is approximately $200. Optional items such as bags, warm-ups, extra shorts, or additional socks would increase the total cost.

WGSC aims to use a base customized uniform kit for approximately 2–3 seasons, subject to manufacturer style changes, inventory availability, and supplier timelines. The 2027–2028 season is currently projected as the transition season into new club kits. This means the 27-28 version of our uniforms will be ordered in the summer and fall of 2027, depending on the team’s start date.

Uniform numbers are assigned by the club based on the club’s number assignment system.

Timing of Team Uniform Ordering

Fall Teams

New and returning players on WGSC teams participating in the Fall SLYSA season must order all required base uniform kit pieces, optional items, or replacement pieces by June 30.

Winter-Spring Teams

New and returning players on WGSC teams beginning team activity in November must order all required base uniform kit pieces, optional items, or replacement pieces by September 15.

Players Registering After September 15

Players who register with WGSC after September 15 should be added to the Soccer.com ordering system by their coach, team manager, or the club office.

These players should order their uniforms as soon as possible. One-off customized orders may take approximately 4–6 weeks for fulfillment.

Fanwear

WGSC team fanwear stores are made available online for family and friends who wish to order items in support of their favorite club team.

Fanwear stores are generally offered 24/7/365 with updates to the merchandise in October and February.

2026–2027 Season Costs

Season costs are adjusted based on the team assigned.

U7–U8: $475

U9–U10: $1,275

U11–U12: $1,315

U13–U14: $1,345

Pricing Basis

Season pricing is based on the projected target number of primary roster registrations for each team.

U7–U8: 8 players

U9–U10: 12 players

U11–U12: 16 players

U13+: 16 players

If a team’s actual primary roster size is lower than the projected target number, a modest price adjustment may be necessary to cover team and season costs. Any adjustment would be communicated clearly to families before being applied.

Membership Payment Options

Families may choose one of the following payment options:

Option A: Pay in Full

Full payment is due at registration in June.

Option B: Payment Plan

Each player has a $300 registration deposit due at registration. Families may then choose either a 3-month payment plan or a 6-month payment plan.

3-Month Payment Plan

#1 Registration Deposit

#2 September 1

#3 November 1

#4 February 1

6-Month Payment Plan

#1 Registration Deposit

#2 September 1

#3 October 1

#4 November 1

#5 December 1

#6 January 1

#7 February 1

Late Registration / Mid-Season Registration

When a player registers on or after a scheduled payment date, the account must be brought current with the applicable payment plan at the time of registration.

For example, if a primary roster player registers on September 15, the $300 registration deposit and the September 1 payment would both be collected at registration.
